Medical Technologist

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct chemical analyses of blood, urine, and other body fluids to determine normal and abnormal components.
Perform blood cell counts and identification using microscopic techniques.
Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and ensure preventive maintenance.
Manage laboratory supplies inventory and place orders as needed.
Provide medical technology information to staff and clients.
Prepare reports of technological findings through data collection and analysis.
Stay updated with industry knowledge through educational workshops and professional development.
Foster cooperation within the department and maintain workflow.
Adhere to infection control and hazardous waste policies and protocols to ensure safety.
Maintain patient confidentiality and protect clinic information.
Contribute to the team effort by completing related tasks as required.
Authorized Specimen Collector Responsibilities:

Restrict unauthorized personnel from entering the collection site.
Verify the identity of clients/donors/subjects.
Ensure the security of specimen supplies, records, and documents at the collection site.
Inform clients/donors/subjects of specimen collection procedures.
Perform one specimen collection at a time.
Accept and seal specimen containers in the presence of clients/donors/subjects.
Accomplish the Custody and Control Form (CCF) as required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
Valid Medical Technologist license.
Strong analytical and technical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures.
Understanding of infection control and safety protocols.
