About the Role
Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
-Performs vital sign measurements and assists doctors and patients during consultations
-Performs clinic procedures not limited to vaccinations, pap smears, ECG taking, phlebotomy and other procedure that are part of the nursing profession.
-Verifies patient by reading patient identification.
-Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures; observing isolation procedures.
-Maybe assigned to community sites for vaccination, phlebotomy, and testing services
-Provide pre- vaccination education and disseminate clear, consistent, and accurate information about the vaccine including common side effects
-Talk to individuals about barriers to receiving the vaccine and support problem solving
-Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
-Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
-Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
-Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level.
-Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.
